In May of 2020, after falling into difficult times and moving in with his daughter, Preston began looking for his own place. He was living on disability benefits and did not have much income. He was trying to find something that was in his budget that would accommodate him and his dog. He did not want to live in the city, but he also could not drive so he needed his home to be close to his doctor and family. During his search, he came across CIG and was quickly introduced to his specialist Michael.

Michael went over Preston’s goals. They developed a plan for Preston, which entailed having his rent reported through CRBC, paying his credit cards down below 30% utilization, and cleaning up some of the inaccurately reported items on his report.

Over the following months, Preston saw amazing results. His scores went from the low 400’s up to the 650’s. In January he was sent to the home ready desk and passed the home-ready audit. Preston did not want to purchase a home that was over $50,000 so he decided to negotiate the terms of an owner-financed mobile home and was approved by the homeowner due to his excellent credit and payment history. In March of 2021, after signing all of the paperwork and contracts with the lawyers, Preston and his dog were able to move into their new home.
