In April of 2020, Kay, her son, and her husband were renting a room from her in-laws. She was feeling like they were becoming an inconvenience and she was trying to determine what she needed to do to purchase a home for her family. She was aware that she had some things on her credit that needed to be taken care of but needed a starting point. This is how she found Credit Innovation Group.
Emily answered Kay’s call and reviewed Kay’s situation. Kay explained that she had paid on her car faithfully but she had some student loans and a couple of collections that were stopping her from getting where she wanted to be in life. Kay explained how difficult it has been for her due to her credit, even to get a car loan she had to have a cosigner. It was very hard for her to get approved for things and she knew she needed to do something about it.
Emily reassured Kay and explained to her that CIG would be able to help her overcome these credit obstacles. Emily went over the program and then Kay was introduced to her specialist Julie.
Julie went over Kay’s reports, discussed her student loans, her credit card utilization, and walked Kay through logging into her portal. There were a couple of late payments on her report and Julie explained the importance of making sure that from here on out, all payments need to be made on time each month. Kay was extremely grateful to learn from Julie and she got to work paying down her credit cards and was diligent about making her payments on time.
Kay’s score saw dramatic improvements during the first 60days. She had an 86 point increase. Her rental payments were reported and Al helped her navigate through a student loan rehab which got her student loans out of collections.
Over the next 9 months, Kay continued to follow Julie’s advice and CIG was able to get 36 items corrected on Kay’s credit report.
In December of 2020, Kay passed the credit audit and began the pre-approval process with a lender. In April of 2021, after one year of hard work and determination, Kay’s offer on her dream home was accepted and she is now a proud homeowner!!
